Business Type:

Cheryl Hunter is a bestselling author, speaker, and resilience expert. She was drawn to her work as a result of her own journey; she was abducted as a teenager shortly after leaving Colorado, and that life-altering experience ignited a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Distilling the methods Cheryl used to turn around her own life, she developed an educational method that is proven to turn around results for people in all contexts. She delivers that breakthrough education in corporations, educational institutions, and to individuals worldwide.

A motto on her web site is an inspiring insight: “It’s never too late to be who you might have been. Stop waiting for someday. Your time is now.”

Cheryl Hunter was born and reared in the remote Colorado Rocky Mountains. She is a cowgirl who grew up on a horse ranch, training horses and riding rodeo. Her family’s ranch was so isolated that looking out from her home there were no signs of civilization whatsoever. While she felt it was an idyllic and magical upbringing, Cheryl longed to be with others, and she longed for the opportunity to have her life make the biggest difference possible, so she left the mountains for the city.

Today, Cheryl is a bestselling author, speaker, and resilience expert.

When she was held captive, Cheryl didn’t know if she’d ever see the light of day again or survive; once she was set free, Cheryl became a woman with a mission: to empower people to fulfill their highest potential. In service of that mission, Cheryl has spoken before over and delivered her education to 93,000 people since 1995.

Cheryl is also a noted media personality. Because of the unique perspective Cheryl’s past provides, she is committed to offering solutions for the suffering, making sense out of the senseless, and supporting people to bounce back, be resilient, and triumph in the face of any and all circumstances. Cheryl sees mainstream media as the perfect partner to help her fulfill those commitments. To that end, she has made great impact with her highly regarded TED talks, and is a regular contributor to CNN, Forbes Magazine, Huffington Post, Fast Company, U.S. News & World Report, and more. Cheryl is passionate about empowering women, and is honored to be a member of Maria Shriver’s Brain Trust, a select group dedicated to bettering the lives of women.

Cheryl is still deeply connected to her Colorado mountain roots; she splits her time between her home at the beach in Los Angeles and her family’s ranch in Colorado.
